From the ongoing multifront war in the Middle East, to what could be dubbed “shocking scenes” of the opening ceremonies of Paris’ Olympic Games, to the renewed vicious attacks between the U.S. presidential candidates, to a summer that has been called out for its extreme climate swings, the world is emblazed in a heated turmoil.
In the Middle East, Israel will survive, and Hamas and Hezbollah will be worse off. So, the goal of liberating Palestine from the River (Jordan or Nile?) to the sea (the Mediterranean, I guess) will have to be postponed. The military campaign in Gaza is stagnating not because of Israel’s unwillingness to use lethal force in greater intensity but to keep the hostage negotiations’ alive. So, what’s keeping Hamas out of harm’s way, is not the prowess of its combatants on the fields, but the hiding of hostages deep into tunnels. Hardly a match to the IDF, Hamas has proven to be a military gang with a streak for rape, wanton killings, and excellent hiding skills. As for Hezbollah, its vulnerabilities have been exposed. No, Israel will not stage an invasion 1982 style, nor would it stutter like in 2006. We are in 2024, and artificial intelligence coupled with precision killing drones -and good old Arab informants- are doing the job. To date, 400 of the top Hezbollah fighters have been killed, 5 square kms of South Lebanon have been flattened, and a militia playing hide & seek is all what’s left. So, in the short-term, Hamas will give up the hostages, Israel will let the group’s leadership got to Yemen or Algeria, and some Arab force will take Gaza over. In Lebanon, Hezbollah will retrench behind the Litani River and UN Security Council Resolution 1701 will be applied. Another war will break out when Trump comes to power or in the first 100 days of a Harris victory.
Back to Paris, the Drag Queens Show and the anti-Christian tableaux of the opening ceremonies will soon be forgotten, and Paris will have a stupendous Olympics Games. Then, Macron, after bidding farewell to world leaders, will refocus on forming a government whose composition has none of the extreme elements in it, despite their electoral successes. Thus, creating a first in the V Republic with a governing coalition that is closer to the Presidential will than to the popular vote. There is always a first, and since the Olympic Games’ organizers have shown some indulgence towards the excesses of the French Revolution (with scenes depicting the beheading of Marie-Antoinette), why not forming a Commite de Salut Public and centralizing all power. One cannot on the one hand glorify the horrors of 1789-1793 and on the other hand, abhor its political practices including the use of terror -albeit this time being of a political not of a martial nature. Hence, the will of few illuminatis will be imposed on millions of French. From his beginnings, Pres. Macron was compared to Jupiter, and Louis XIV, so why not Napoléon with his Consular Authority or with the Directoire. Plus ca change…
In the US, I am much more interested in JD Vance than in Donald or Kamala. He brings something new, bold, and refreshing to the table. His rise from a hillbilly’s status is remarkable, his service in the Marines is commendable, his graduation from Yale Law School is laudable, and his rise as a venture capitalist, then as a Senator and now as a VP nominee, are short of a miracle. Unlike the miracle that saved Trump but alas did not change him from a ranting maniac into a Hindu Shaman spreading love and understanding after having survived an assassin’s bullet. And, unlike the miracle of Kamala who went when from Deep Throat to Deep State and from Border Czar to Colored Women Czarina! JD has something interesting to say about Wall Street excesses and has some sharp anti-trust opinions. He has a clear understanding of the limited role that the US should play in armed conflicts around the world, a clear view on China’s economic hegemony, and on the need to close the borders and look after fellow Americans instead of felons and illegal immigrants. His, could be viewed as an isolationist agenda, but only if you are a diehard globalist and want America to do more for you, if you happen to be a foreigner. However, for a native, it looks like his agenda smells as much of corn as it does of common sense, and it is flavored by national priorities not by Soros’ agenda.
The summer is heated and humid, and it requires a prayer: “May peace come to the Middle East, Sanity to France, and JD Vance to America”!
